Hi, I’m Ruby and I will be in the graduating class of 2021. I went to Cabrillo Middle School and I played the trumpet in the Jazz Band for 3 years. While most of my goals are academic, I also have some personal goals I would like to achieve as well.
I want to join the Bioscience program since that is the general field I want to be working in. I want to be a wildlife biologist or an ecologist. For my EDA class I would like to focus on reading and colleges. I would want to attend, UCSB, UCLA, or Oregon State. I also want to finish reading “A Catcher in the Rye” so I can start my next book, “Grapes of Wrath”. My reading list for this year consists of, “The Things They Carried”, “The Scarlet Letter”, and “Flowers in the Attic”. My goals for English is to work on speeches and public speaking in general.
Ruby's Goals For Freshman Year
My goals for my family life is that I want to spend more time with my cousin because she is the only one have, and she is going off to college soon. I also want to play more one-on-one tennis with my Dad since we have both been too busy lately. Another goal I have is to finish the “Breaking Bad” series with my Dad. One last goal I have for my family is to go to a Van Morrison concert with my dad, because he is our favorite artist.
My goals for my friends are to branch out of my current friend group, I see a new school as a new opportunity to do that. I also want to visit my friend, who lives in Santa Barbara, more often because I haven't seen her in over a year. I want my friend Maisy and I to go on our fall trip to Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, and New Hampshire. A trip that we have been planning since the sixth grade.
My athletic goals are all tennis related. I want to improve on my serves most of all, I am going to hit with Brad and Enkela to improve. I also want to work on my overheads and gaining topspin on the ball. Again, I want to start hitting with my Dad more because he is a professional tennis instructor and will help me. I would also like to become captain of the girls tennis team in senior year. My last goal is to beat Geib and Fitzpatrick in doubles one day and win the golden trophy.
In conclusion, I have many goals I would like to achieve for freshman year and beyond. I will try my hardest to pursue these goals and hopefully will have achieved them all when I look back in ten years.
